Huawei Honor 6x review

Huawei's smartphones are coming yet again with a new member "Honor 6x" good battery life and quirky special camera features. But there are key elements that hold it back from the perfect five-star review - including the size and the software.
Despite that, the Honor 6X is a top choice from the up-and-coming Chinese brand because of its budget price tag.

Design

The large 5.5-inch screen gives the phone a strong, sturdy build and feel. If you've got big hands, or you like watching video on a plus-sized display, then this allows you to have a great visual experience.
Gone are the days of using a hand-fitting Nokia brick - I know - but I still find myself trying to avoid supersized phones. So despite the video benefits and bright clear picture from the HD display - the hefty 162g phone still hasn't won me over.
The handset itself comes in three colours - grey, silver and gold - which help to give it a very smart, up-market look.

Software

The Honor 6X operating system is EMUI 4.1, based on Android 6 Marshmallow. This is a little out-dated, considering Android 7 Nougat is the latest software, but Huawei is planning to release an update in the next few months.
You can really have some fun with personalising your phone display - building up different homepage screens by selecting a variety of widgets, positioning your apps how you like, and choosing quirky themes and colour schemes to suit your mood.
It means you can tailor your phone to your personal preferences and day-to-day schedule by displaying specific apps in ways that allow you to access them faster and more easily.
Like the iPhone's Night Mode, the Honor 6X offers a similar "Eye Comfort" mode, which adjusts the colours and brightness of the screen in low light conditions.

Dual-lens camera

One of the rarest feature covered in this phone is the dual lens camera.Despite the iPhone 7 Plus offering the same must-have feature of two rear lenses, the Honor 6X is a worthy competitor at a fraction of the price.
The phone's two back 12MP and 2MP lenses work together to adjust the depth-of-field and create a "bokeh" effect, and the use of Deep Trench Isolation (DTI) technology helps to suppress blur.
You have full control over the camera settings and can switch to "Night Mode" and "Pro Mode" to improve your image result.
When taking a photo you can tap the screen to focus on faces and specific objects. You can even set the camera mode to a 10/10 beauty filter which offers an amazing airbrushed Photoshop look. Your next Instagram post might even have your friends asking if you're going to be the next cover model for Vogue!
My favourite camera feature was the many ways to edit your images - from pop-art inspired filters to mosaic patterns and stickers. I had a lot of fun testing out the variety of quirky filters and different colour shades on my pictures.
You can also watch your videos at a fast-forward speed, which is always enjoyable.

Special features

The fingerprint scanner on the back of the phone was a great feature, and really fast and easy to use... if the phone is in your hand.
With all these awesome features its a great choice for mobile lovers. All tech junkies are anxiously waiting for this really smart smartphone.

However, bookings are already started on Amazon.

The phone also comes with a Mirror app, which is... different.
I've never seen anything like this on a phone before and, to be honest, I probably wouldn't start staring at my own face out in public, but it could come in handy if you need to quickly check your teeth for spinach!

Battery life

When I was told this phone boasts a battery life of 2.2 days, I refused to believe it was true. But I was surprised to be proven wrong when the phone lasted almost 3 full days without needing to be re-charged.
To charge the phone from 0% to 100% battery will take a good two hours, but having the power-saving mode is a great benefit if you don't have the patience to fully charge.

The Honor 6X costs a little more than the 5X, which launched in 2016, but it is still not expensive with a very reasonable price of £225 for a SIM-free handset.
It's also significantly cheaper than the iPhone 7 Plus, which costs a whopping £719.

Verdict

Overall I was very impressed with the amount of smartphone you can get for your money, in terms of features and battery life. For a third of the iPhone 7 Plus price I think it's great value with very little difference in features.

Its been already added in wishlist by people who are looking to buy a new phone, specially those who are looking for great features in great price.its exclusively available on Amazon.Record breaking bookings are expected.
