Hyundai,One of the favorite car maker fo the middle class car lovers is again coming in market with its latest i10 Grand Facelift.The South Korean automaker has finally launched the Grand i10 facelift in India at Rs 4.58 lakh .

Interestingly, the New 2017 Hyundai Grand i10 facelift has been introduced on Hyundai India’s official YouTube channel, making it the first car in its league to have a digital launch. The new car is equipped with several segment first features including touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Mirror Link compatibility, and Voice recognition system. Adding to it, the vehicle also gets rear parking camera, LED daytime running lamps, new diamond cut alloy wheels and first-in-class rear AC vents and new 1.2-litre diesel engine.

Similar to the previous model, the new model is available in four trim levels in both petrol and diesel guise. While the petrol versions come with a price tag ranging from Rs 4.58 lakh to Rs 6.39 lakh, the diesel variants cost between Rs 5.68 lakh to Rs 7.32 lakh (all, ex-showroom Delhi). The hatchback receives minor updates on inside and out. Though, the major change comes in the form of a new 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder turbo diesel engine along with the current 1.2-litre VTVT petrol motor. The diesel engine is basically the bored out version of the existing 1.2L U2 CRDi unit. It is capable of producing 74bhp of power and 190Nm of torque.

The new Grand i10 directly face some stiff competition from compact cars of same budget.However
,right now their straight fight will be with country’s best-selling B-segment hatchback – the Maruti Swift – that will enter into its next generation this year. As a reminder, the 2017 Grand i10 was first unveled at the 2016 Paris Motor Show.

Instead of the previous 1.1-litre diesel engine, the Grand i10 facelift gets a new 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder turbo diesel motor that is claimed to be more power and fuel efficient. This engine churns out a maximum power output of 74bhp and a peak torque of 190PS. On the other hand, the gasoline version version will continue to feature the existing 1.2-litre Kappa VTVT unit that is capable of producing 81bhp of maximum power at 6,000rpm and 114Nm of peak torque at 4,000rpm. The new model is claimed to be more fuel efficient than the previous car. While the petrol version now delivers a mileage of 19.77, up from 18.90 kmpl, the diesel version is claimed to return 24.4kmpl, an increase of .95kmpl. The automatic model returns an impressive 17.49kmpl.

Dimensions of the updated Grand i10 remains the same. The new model is 3,765mm long, 1,660mm wide and 1,520mm tall. The hatchback sits on a 2,465mm long wheelbase. The ground clearance stands at 165mm, which is good enough to tackle Indian road conditions. It comes with a fuel tank of 43-litres, while the boot space of 256-litres is good to accommodate your weekend bags.

Design and styling of the new Grand i10 looks refreshing, thanks to its subtle revised front and rear. It projects Hyundais new design language with a new hexagonal grille with ‘Cascade design’ that comes integrated with round LED daytime running lamps. Other design highlights include redesigned bumper with round reflectors and Elantra-inspired boomerang-shaped fog lamps, giving the front more bold and sporty look. It also gets front air curtains, which enhances its aerodynamic stability. The side profile remains the same, except for the new diamond cut alloys and new wheel covers. It also gets sleeker side body moulding. The rear profile looks largely identical the previous model. It comes equipped with dual-tone rear bumper with reflectors.

Step inside, and the hatchback’s 2017 model greets you with a new Red & Black interior with updated fabric seat upholstery and new trim colours. Though, the dashboard design remains unchanged. The car gets segment-best new 7-inch touchscreen display with navigation, Mirror Link, Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity. Its voice command functionality adds more to its convenience levels. Features such as automatic climate control, rear AC vent, lane departure warning and front collision warning are also on offer.

The mid-level Sportz variant also gets 5-inch touchscreen display, but it misses out on several connectivity features. For passenger safety and security, the hatchback gets rear parking assist system with dual airbags, ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System), reverse parking sensors and new rear parking camera with display on 7-inch touchscreen.
